IPA Special Event on World Urbanism Day: A Conversation with Prof. AbdouMaliq Simone

On World Urbanism Day, November 8, 2020, we invited Prof. AbdouMaliq Simone as our guest speaker. On that special event of Istanbul Planning Agency, Prof. Simone made a presentation titled "Counting the Uncountable: Revisiting the Concept of Majority"  
Following the presentation he answered our questions and questions from the audience.

Professor AbdouMaliq Simone is Senior Professorial Fellow at the Urban Institute, University of Sheffield. He works on issues of spatial composition in extended urban regions, the production of everyday life for urban majorities in the Global South, infrastructural imaginaries, collective affect, global blackness, and histories of the present for Muslim working classes.  For three decades he has worked with practices of social interchange, technical arrangements, local economy, and the constitution of power relations that affect how heterogeneous African and Southeast Asian cities are lived.  

The IPA special event was moderated by K. Murat Güney and Mine Yıldırım from the Vision2050 team, and translated to Turkish simultaneously by Sungur Savran.
