Climate Crisis, Ecology and Environmental Policies

According to recent researches on climate crisis, the temperature and precipitation regimes in Istanbul will be more irregular; the effects of decreasing precipitation, increasing temperature and drought will increase; disasters such as floods and landslides will become frequent; manufacturing industry, agricultural production and infrastructure will be disrupted; and fragility of disadvantaged groups will increase. In this context, policy and strategy suggestions will be developed to make Istanbul more resilient against climate crisis and stop ecological destruction. With the perspective of biocultural preservation and climate justice, studies will be carried out to update Istanbul Climate Change Action Plan and develop more effective mitigation and adaptation activities.
